Olivia + Lawrence {save the date}

I enjoyed working with Olivia and Lawrence on this gorgeous save the date. They wanted a clean and classic look. So I found a beautiful calligraphy font and kept the design very subtle with a blush and grey colourway.

The holiday season is always a popular time to get engaged. If your left hand is suddenly a lot more sparklier and you need wedding stationery. Please get in touch, I would love to hear from you.

Caihlech + Rhys {save the date}

I love an engagement shoot because it means I get to use the beautiful images for the save the date design.

The pics from Caihlech + Rhys' shoot are great! Michael Schultz captured the moody grey skies on the old railroad bridge near Pandora Pond in Napier perfectly. You can see more of the shoot here. Look forward to seeing the wedding pics in April next year.

Jess + Kyle {save the date}

The stationery wedding season has begun again. Woo hoo!!

I had the privilege of designing this gorgeous save the date for the lovely Jess + Kyle who are getting married in the Bay of Islands, NZ. I couldn't imagine a more magnificent location.

This save the date is a little insight to what I am sure is going to be a brilliant day.

Congratulations Jess + Kyle!! Enjoy the wedding planning.

Rachel + Chris {Save the Date}

Now guys, this is a love story in a half!!

I met with Rachel for a champagne at Cumulus Up in Melbourne just before I left to discuss the stationery for her wedding. These two need to write a novel about how they got together. I actually almost teared up when she was telling me!! But long story short ...

Chris and Rachel had known each other for years before they realised that they were meant for each other. They met through Rachel's brother, moved to separate countries, decided to go on an overseas trip together, realised they had feelings for each other, then finally Chris moved to Melbourne and the rest is history.

Their first official date was in the Melbourne Botanical Gardens, so it seemed fitting to have the wedding there too. Chris and Rachel wanted a Save the Date they could send to their friends and family that would be travelling for the wedding. They wanted the design to reflect the gardens, incorporate their silhouettes and also the birds that were fluttering around when Chris proposed.

They inserted an info sheet in with the Save the Date magnet letting people know the best places to stay in Melbourne.

Rachel is the most organised bride I have ever met!! She has already chosen her dress, what the bridesmaids are wearing, the flowers, the celebrant and I think music is pretty sorted too. And it's a year away!!

Cannot wait to start designing the rest of the stationery suite for Chris and Rachel's big day.

Mel + Todd {Save the date}

Save the dates are such an exciting part of the wedding lead up. When they go out, it means it is all go and there is no turning back!! It's also a great sneak peak into what the day will bring for the guests.

Here is my latest design for Mel and Todd. They decided to do two different versions, one more formal and one with a little bit of cheek. They had a great image of their venue which they wanted to incorporate into the design. Can you tell where it is?

You can see the design I did for Mels 'Be my bridesmaid' here and stay tuned for the invite design coming soon!!

Stationery design

Designing wedding stationery is a great passion of mine. It's really important to me when creating an invite for a couple, that the design truly reflects them and gives a sneak peak as to what their day is going to be like.

I was anxious about creating my own stationery for our wedding back in December 2013. I had so many ideas, had seen so many amazing invites and just didn't know if I was going to be able to make up my mind. But, surprisingly, it all come together quickly. The key was I knew the client (Me and Mark), I knew what we liked and what means the most to us. This is my strategy for creating the perfect invite.

I began with the Save the dates.

Then came the best part, the invite.

We got these printed on a tea towel, a great keepsake
for our guests. Photo by Jill Andrews Photography.

Followed by the extra info booklet.

We also sent these out as a PDF attached to an email.

Details from the save the dates and invites were carried through to the Big Day. At the ceremony we had cocktails served in cream bottles with little swing tags draped around the neck.

Coral spotted straws complemented the swing tags and even the cocktail colours
were in theme too. Photo by Jill Andrews Photography.

At the reception we used the hall message board to welcome our guests.

Our silhouettes were a design element that we used throughout the day. I was
inspired by a tiny ink portrait of a woman we worked for in the UK. It is
amazing how a simple outline can look exactly like us!

The place names and the menu cards were incorporated into one card.

These napkins are available for hire. Get in touch.

And finally, when it was all over and done, the Thank you cards. I created a concertina showcasing some of our favourite shots (by Jill Andrews) from Our Big Day. A link to the short video we created was at the bottom of the spot where we wrote our messages of thanks.

If your big day is coming up, and you want some fabulous invites that represent the two of you, please get in touch.
